In Cleveland, Texas, stray dogs roam everywhere, and despite a local animal rescue, ThisIsHouston, routinely covering the area with their mobile spay/neuter unit, it seems more abandoned pets continue to gather in the area.
Meet Tito. This unwanted stray was first spotted in June and had made himself scarce until Tuesday morning when volunteers were out helping. And there he was – waiting and just hanging around. This time, however he appeared with a swollen front leg and was limping. Another loose dog then approached Tito and growled as if he was poised to attack. With all of his strength, Tito ran away into the busy street and was nearly struck by a truck who almost ran him over.
It would only be a matter of time before Tito’s luck would run out.
“Our efforts in Cleveland can be so frustrating. It’s incredibly hard to see all the dogs in need and not be able to help them all. But for now, we will just be thankful that Tito is safe and getting a second chance.”

Tito is currently hospitalized at Vergi 24/7 and is receiving life saving treatment for a bone infection and dehydration. He is not able to eat on his own.
