In Toronto, the Peel Regional Police praised Good Samaritans for rescuing a small puppy who was reportedly being dragged on a leash by a moving car in Mississauga.

“The dog has been saved by caring surrounding witnesses and taken to a local vet hospital. The dog is currently conscious and breathing. Thank you to kind hearted citizens that rescued the poor animal.”

The Good Samaritans were able to stop the vehicle at which time the driver threw down the leash and sped away. The seven-month-old Pomeranian named Skye is expected to make a full recovery. The veterinary hospital that is currently treating Skye have received offers for donations and have graciously declined with the request that the good hearted citizens make a donation to their nearest animal shelter.

Authorities later arrested Jose Tavares, 70, from Mississauga and charged him with injuring an animal, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and driving while impaired.

Anyone with more information or video, is asked to contact the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at (905) 453–2121, extension 1133.

Get well soon Skye.

  1. Hope Skye recovers ASAP and is rehomed into a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member!!!

As for the former owner, he simply shouldn’t be around animals ever……. He has earned himself a reserved space in the hottest part of Hell for his cruelty……,
