An Idaho man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and drug charges and he has been sentenced to jail time and probation. According to East Idaho News, 21-year-old Caden Glenn Armstrong will spend 180-days in jail and have two years of probation for strangling a cat with a zip-tie, and stabbing him as well.

The crime was discovered in December when Fremont County Sheriff’s deputies went to his residence to serve a a felony burglary warrant. While there, they witnessed a bloody, deceased cat outside of Armstrong’s trailer. A deputy’s report details the incident:

“Caden said the cat was injured. He took the cat into the R.V. and attempted to strangle it by hand, but the cat scratched him. He said he then put a zip tie around the cat’s neck and pulled it tight. He said he also stabbed it in the neck then discarded the cat outside.”

Though Armstrong suggested that the cat had been hit by a car, deputies noted that the cat had no injuries to support the claim. Armstrong also admitted to using meth and marijuana; the authorities found drugs and paraphernalia at the residence.

The deceased cat was named Tigger and belonged to one of Armstrong’s neighbors. He told the authorities that he didn’t like the cat.
