A dog was terrified and cold after being abandoned in an Escondido, California, dog park. As reported by 10 News, two men are believed to be responsible for securing the dog to a fence at the Mayflower Dog Park.

Two women learned that the dog was alone at the park on Sunday night, and when the showed up to try and help, they found the dog “howling and crying” in the cold. Animal control officers arrived and transported the abandoned pooch to the San Diego Humane Society; he should be made available for adoption following the mandatory stray hold.

Two men are believed to be responsible for tying the dog to the fence – the dog was left with a leash and harness, and appears to be in good health.
