A dog taken in last night at the Midwest Animal Resq, in Missouri, is nothing more than skin and bones. It is clear that she has been suffering without food for far too long. The rescue agency asks the question,

“How many people saw her and did nothing. How long was this baby wandering scared, alone, cold, and starving. How many people simply looked past her?”

The dog, dubbed Penny, is safe now – and she will receive the food and care that she needs and deserves. Hopefully the damage done to her body can be overcome. The rescue group commented on her sad condition, and why they chose to share her photos:

I know this picture is hard to look at, but her story deserves to be told. It’s the story of so many homeless animals. Someone owned this dog. Suffering like this doesn’t stop until people take responsibility. Until people spay their pets, until people don’t leave them out unattended, until people microchip…dogs like penny will get lost, they will suffer.

If you would like to make a donation towards Penny’s care, you can do so at this link.

I am glad that this precious treasure is safe. I hope she recovers quickly from her ordeal.
I would love to learn that she recovers and is rehomed into a loving furever family who will treat her as a beloved family member.
