His owner died and now his heart is broken – senior dog needs a new home

A senior Labrador retriever named Sam is suffering from a broken heart. The elderly dog’s owner died recently, and now he is waiting for someone new to come along and offer him a home.

On March 18, te Knox County Humane Society No Kill Animal Shelter -Galesburg, IL, introduced Facebook followers to the homeless dog, writing:

MEET SAM 💗

Sam is a Senior black lab. His owner recently passed away and his heart is broken!

He is housebroken and just needs a retirement home 🏡 He is a senior boy who is wonderful but needs to be an only pet.

On Wednesday, the shelter let everyone know that Sam is still waiting to be adopted:

MY HEART BREAKS FOR SAM 💔 He is still at shelter 😔
