In Youngstown, Ohio, a starving dog was found on the side of the road Thursday afternoon. She was unable to walk or lift her head and had been crying aloud. The Good Samaritan picked her up and placed her in her car before calling Mahoning County Dog Warden. A deputy arrived and lifted her up from the woman’s car and carried her to the Animal Control van and rushed her to the emergency veterinarian reporting the dog cried most of the way there. Then she stopped crying, and the deputy feared she had died. She arrived at the emergency veterinarian.

Another rescuer had been at the veterinarian office when the dog arrived, as the deputy brought her in.

“I guess the lady called her Lucy. I started to talk to her and said Hi Lucy! She looked at me and wagged her tail. It was so heartbreaking. Please everyone say a prayer for her. She is in grave condition.”

After an examination, Lucy was found to be negative for the Parvo virus. She remains on pain medications and intravenous fluids. So far no injuries have been detected. Her cries of pain are from malnourishment. This has been devastating for everyone involved.
