Adopted 😉

Meet Barley. This gorgeous German shepherd was surrendered to the Riverside Animal Shelter on August 25, 2021 by his owner who never looked back to even say goodbye. Instead his owner walked away, and Barley watched. When ushered to his shelter cage, he cried aloud breaking hearts for sure.

An animal advocate posted her feelings on social media:

“Oh how heartbreaking upsetting confusing and traumatizing for a pet to be cruelly surrendered leaving the poor betrayed pet stunned, overwhelmed and heartbroken. The owner didn’t even turn back to see Barley on more time. It is beyond cruel heartless, unacceptable and inexcusable to surrender ones loyal loving and trusting human companion.. Please help this beautiful natured sweet loving and precious darling boy today.”
