In McAllen, Texas, a heartless driver of a vehicle, left a small dog fighting for his life in an emergency veterinarian hospital on Wednesday evening. The young children who found the two-year-old Chihuahua mix brought him to the nearest animal shelter.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were notified and asked to help. They immediately arranged for the dog, dubbed Taco, to be released and transferred to an emergency veterinarian hospital where he is receiving life-saving treatment. The pup’s trauma can be seen clearly in the photos sent to the rescue by the youngsters who found Taco after he had been violently struck by a car and just left for dead in the middle of the street.

Taco sustained critical injuries to his eye and is currently in shock unable to move.

Radiographs taken at the shelter show a fractured ulna and pelvis.

Updates to follow.

Donations are desperately needed.
