In Pembroke Pines, Florida, a doorbell camera video captured a heartless driver stop near 119th and Taft opening the back door of his vehicle and leading a neglected Jack Russell out of the backseat onto the street.

According to the rescue group, Pooches in Pines, another dog, a terribly neglected senior German shepherd was also left confused and standing in the middle of the street.

“The video is clear,” Pembroke Pine Police Major Al Xiques told CbsMiami.“It shows a white male subject who was driving a four-door silver compact vehicle with some damage to the left front bumper.”

The rescue organization has named the shepherd “Duke.” He is very timid and weary of people and is suspected to have been neglected. The Jack Russell is now “Jack” and is very friendly.

During the dogs’ veterinary visit, Jack’s tooth fell out while being examined. His nails were so long they had curled under his paws. They have since been trimmed. He has been adjusting well, however Duke is still confused and apprehensive, but doing better.

Duke is now in the care of a foster home, and Jack is expected to be ready for a loving home soon.
