On Sunday, a beautiful, four-year-old Collie named Jack was surrendered to an Arkansas animal services facility because of “family emergencies.” On Monday, Maumelle Friends of the Animals shared Jack’s story with Facebook followers, writing:

Jack is his original name. Jack has been an indoor dog his whole life. He is used to be being part of the family and partaking in family activities. He also goes to doggie day care sometimes. Jack is higher energy and has the need to do things. He will not make for a couch potato type of dog. Jack is house trained. Great with people. Unknown about cats.

Jack is certainly confused right now – the only family he has ever known is gone, as is his home. Will you please help find Jack a new family by sharing his information?

Jack is located at Maumelle Animal Services, 425 Cogdell Drive, Maumelle Arkansas. Open M-F 10-5, Sat. 12-4:30.

Online adoption applications available at www.Maumellefoa.org.

Adoption fee is $80. Included in the fee is shots, sterilization, microchip, dogs are given a dewormer at time of intake, placed on monthly flea/tick preventative, if heartworm negative then they are placed on heartworm preventative, if heartworm positive then they are treated once an adoption finalized.

  1. URGENT–I CANNOT IMAGINE ANY EMERGENCY SHORT OF DEATH THAT WOULD SEPARATE ME FROM THIS SWEET GORGEOUS FAMILY MEMBER! PLEASE
    PLEASE–WE MUST MUST HELP HIM!

  2. This poor precious treasure. Jack must be so confused. My mother in law loves this breed. I wish she were there so she could get him……
I can’t understand how or why someone would abandon their furbaby. I have always boarded our furbabies during “difficult times” or asked for help from my network of family and friends…….
It’s absolutely heartbreaking for Jack who has done nothing wrong except exist……
I hope Jack can be rehomed ASAP into a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member.
