Giant lizard causes chaos at Thailand 7 Eleven store

Barely a week since the movie “Godzilla vs. Kong” hit HBO and the movie theaters, another giant lizard made video fame. A six-foot monitor lizard climbed up the shelves at a Thailand 7 Eleven store on Monday afternoon, and the video went viral.

The giant reptile caused quite a stir among customers after it likely emerged from a nearby canal and ran into the store in Nakhon Pathom. People in the store were so scared they hid behind the counter as the reptile climbed the shelves in search of food, leaving behind a wake of food and drinks splayed out on the floor.

A shop employee called police who brought help to snare the unexpected visitor. For the shocked shoppers who likely only stopped for a quick carton of milk or to buy a snack, it was a once in a lifetime 7 Eleven experience no doubt.

The person who recorded the entire situation on his Iphone stayed at a safe distance while filming.

Rescuers dragged the lizard outside of the store; perhaps he was angry because he was unable to get the refrigerator doors open or because he never did get any food. He was freed outside and far away from the store and quickly disappeared into the underbrush.

Monitor lizards live in canals and feed on snakes, frogs and scraps of food.

I’d rather have that lizard in my local 7-11 than the low-life garbage I see walking around in there! At least lizards don’t carry guns.
