Weeks ago, a good Samaritan found a tired, emaciated dog on a beach in Washington state. The dog, dubbed Dean, was taken to the Kitsap Humane Society where he was given round-the-clock care to help him overcome his horrible state of malnutrition. Thanks to the shelter’s diligence, Dean is now a healthy and happy dog who is ready for a home of his own.

On Wednesday, the shelter staff wrote:

When Dean came to KHS he was emaciated, tired, and scared. He had spent an unknown amount of time alone on a beach, waiting for help. And help came. Thanks to a good Samaritan, Dean arrived at KHS just in time and after several weeks in our care, Dean is healthy, happy, and ready to meet his family! 💚 That’s right, this strong, gorgeous pup is available for adoption today!

Describing Dean’s lovable demeanor:

Dean is a huge fan of stuffed toys (especially the ones with squeakers), relaxing in the sunshine, showing off his new bod, and cuddling. In fact, Dean is such a ham for snuggles that we believe he would do best in a home with no other pets so that he can hog all the attention. Dean is looking for a family that will help him learn more tricks (he already knows sit and lay down), spoil him with belly scratches, and explore the outdoors with him.
