Police responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle, near Bridal Veil Falls in El Dorado County, California, found three dead dogs stuffed inside of an SUV with 13 living dogs who were surrounded by squalor. As reported by CBS Sacramento News, the El Dorado Sheriff’s Office found ZJar Uruluzu with a vehicle that contained an “excessive amount of flies…waste, dogs tethered together. Also contained within enclosures, live dogs with a dead dog in the containers.”
The surviving dogs were transported to El Dorado County Animal Services for care and Uruluzu was arrested and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty.
The dogs are being held at the shelter facility until the court determines if Uruluzu can reclaim them.
