A five-week-old puppy was found earlier this week by two Good Samaritans who heard his lonely whimpers while walking late at night. He had been wrapped in a towel before having been thrown away like trash into an Indiana dumpster. The next morning they brought the puppy to the IndyHumane Organization for life-saving treatment.
When brought to the animal rescue organization, the weak puppy, dubbed Oscar, was filthy and suffering from severe vomiting; unable to keep any food or water down.
Rushed to the IndyHumane ICU, he was placed on a heating pad along with a teddy bear with heartbeat sounds, blankets and constant monitoring. After radiographs, it was found Oscar had likely eaten something while trying to survive on his own that led to his nausea. He remained on medication for two days until this emergency passed.
Fortunately, Oscar is now eating and drinking and is regaining some of his strength. He will be in foster care as he recovers from,
“neglect, and soaking up all the love he was denied in his first few weeks of life. We are truly humbled by the strength he displayed while alone and cold in that dumpster,” the group posted on their Facebook page.
“Oscar is yet another example of how humans can learn a lot from the resilience and determination of animals.”
The goal is to nurse Oscar back to health and adopt him into a home where he will be loved, respected and spoiled for the rest of his life.

This is heartbreaking. I don’t know how anyone could toss a loving furbaby into a dumpster and still like what looks back at them in the mirror….. I hope Oscar heals ASAP and is rehomed into a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member.
