In Warrington, Cheshire, England, a family had a “huge shock” when the cat they thought had died and then ordered to be cremated, turned out to be alive and well. Frankie, a 16-year-old tabby had been missing from his home since May 19, 2021.

According to ExpressNews, Rachel Fitzsimons spotted a lookalike dead cat on the M6 highway after searching for the cat for days; the staff workers who found the cat gave the dead cat to the family who in turn ordered their cherished pet to be cremated. The animal’s head was missing and could not be scanned for a microchip.

Can anyone even imagine the shock when the cat reappeared alive and well almost a month later?

The deceased cat looked identical to Frankie – right down to his markings. After the family had who they thought was “Frankie” – cremated, they brought the ashes home in a box.

Frankie returned home emaciated and a bit messy, but nevertheless their favorite kitty has rejoined his family.
