At the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association in West Virginia, a family has been happily reunited with their lost dog after seven long years. Their pup was picked up by Animal Control and brought into the shelter as a stray.

Now here’s the amazing news. The dog was microchipped, and her family is from Kentucky. They were called yesterday and arrived this morning to be reunited with their dog. Any doubt that microchipping doesn’t work?

And now to add to the search for your pet when they are lost is Petco Love Lost. This link offers free facial recognition software that instantly scans a pet’s photo and will instantly scan across all participating shelters across the nation to help find a missing pet.

Another fairytale ending … aren’t they just the best?
