In a rural area of Texas, an emaciated Great Dane hobbled around, barely able to walk. He seemed always to be in pain, but his owners refused to get him help. And instead, the dog’s owner ignored White’s suffering – day after day.
For months, neighbors tried to convince the owner to take White to a veterinarian for help. For months, neighbors begged the dog’s owner to surrender White, and they in turn would make sure the dog could receive treatment, but still the owner refused. Both police and animal control were notified; still no one did anything to help White.
And now as White’s condition had deteriorated even more, and along with people pressuring the owner to help their dog, it was finally agreed to surrender White. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were contacted, and although helping White was expected to be complicated and very expensive, rescuers would not turn their backs on this dog.
“This is why we exist,” co-founder of the non-profit organization, Jackie O’Sullivan posted on social media Tuesday morning. “He is en-route to the local vet for X-rays and basic diagnostics, but we already know by just watching this video he will need expensive diagnostic testing and expensive surgery.”
