At the Evanston Animal Shelter in Illinois, an eight-week-old puppy left on the side of the road continues to fight for his life. “Rocket” arrived at the shelter on Friday after a concerned citizen saw a car stop and leave the puppy alone on the side of the road.
Fortunately, Rocket was brought to the shelter. At first, the staff was horrified at the condition of the puppy’s ears and the amount of pain the 11-pound puppy must have endured in his short eight-weeks of life. Then the news got worse.
A shelter volunteer wrote:
Anddddddd we’re parvo positive. Which his owner knew when he threw this sweet boy out of the car. So, infected crop job, worms, and parvo positive, then left on the street to fend for himself while sick and dying. I just can’t. I can’t. We are drained and exhausted. Please cross everything for him and send healing vibes.”
We’re currently at the ER and we’re no where near done with his journey to be a healthy/happy dog but he’s got the support of an awesome community behind him. Send all the good vibes! I will continue to keep everyone posted.
