Eight senior dogs find themselves in need of a new home after the death of their owner. On Friday, the Lucas County Canine Care & Control facility posted images of the dogs, and explained their situation to Facebook followers:

These 8 sweet senior babies just experienced a tragedy. Their owner passed away leaving them sad, scared, and alone. A shelter is no place for a senior dog let alone a senior dog that is grieving the loss of their loving human companion.

Adding:

They just arrived today so they are not available for adoption quite yet, but can be placed on hold so that when they are available they can go into a home right away. We are estimating them to all be around 10 years old, but it is just an educated guess. What we do know for sure is that they are all sweet and loving.

If you have room in your heart and home for one of these sweet souls, give the shelter a call or stop by the shelter during our open hours (weekdays 11am-6pm weekend 11 am-5 pm)
