A Door Dash delivery driver brazenly stole a tiny puppy from a family in Warren, Michigan, on New Year’s Day. As reported by WYFF 4 News, surveillance video shows the driver petting the pup before picking her up and whisking her away in her car.

The eight-week-old puppy, named Bella, belongs to Ashley Swinton, who tells WXYZ about the bold puppy-napper:

You can see her pet the dog, (and) rub the dog seeing if it was vicious,” Swinton said. “Then scoop the dog up and take the dog to her car.”

But the thief was caught, thanks to the authorities. Det. Price told the news agency:

“They admitted to stealing the dog,” said. “I recovered the dog from the scene. Still in good health. We returned it to the family.”

The 26-year-old female admitted to the crime and charges are expected soon. Bella is safely back in her owner’s care.

  1. THIS is why everyone who CAN afford some sort of surveillance camera(s), ought to invest in it ASAP. That clear EVIDENCE of the theft ensures that it can’t be claimed as false and turn in to a “he said, she said” event. So happy to hear that charges ARE pending. I bet this BRAZEN THIEF will lose her job as well, as no company with integrity will want anything to do with a common thug/thief. Not to mention the EFFECT this has on CHILDREN in any family that suffers the loss of a beloved pet.
