A dog named Tux was sent to the pound because his family was expecting a baby. Now, the Labrador retriever mix sits alone inside of a kennel run at the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control agency in Willows, California. Even Tux’s adoption profile at the pound’s website states “unwanted.”

Tux didn’t ask to lose his family and home. Now, he needs someone to take notice of him. On Thursday, a plea was made on Tux’s behalf. It reads:

HIS FAMILY WAS HAVING A BABY, SO TUX WAS BROUGHT TO THE POUND 🔴🔴

Now, he’s OUT OF TIME. Tux needs a home like, Yesterday… this is no joke…

Tux is a black lab/ border collie mix about 5-6 years old. 55 lbs.

Tux really knows his name well.
He knows how to sit and lay down.
He is dog and kid friendly but cats are unknown.

He is an absolute sweetheart!

Tux is a pretty active boy and lived previous both indoors and outdoors.

Tux needs a family who will treat HIM like family. Please share his adoption information to help him find someone.

Please call 530-934-3311 and set up an appointment for a meet and greet with Tux. If you have a dog you can bring them to meet him too.

  1. I remember my former Mother-in-laws words like it was yesterday. You better get rid of that German Shepherd she will kill your baby. Shane our German Shepherd went no where. She loved her human siblings and would have protected them with her life. Having a baby is NO reason to get rid of the member of your family with 4 legs. I pray Tux finds a forever family that won’t just discard him because of such a stupid reason!

  2. I grew up in an animal filled house. I can’t understand why people think that animals and kids don’t “mix”???

It does require parental supervision to teach young children how to interact with the animals. Parents explain and demonstrate how to treat their animals.

If s child disobeys and a “negative consequence” happens, the child is punished for disobeying the parents. Not the animal.

A lot of people are simply lazy and don’t want to take the time to train their animals or educate their children……. Really pathetic behaviors (& it’s the animals who are always paying for this laziness with their lives)…..

Tux deserves to be rehomed into a loving furever family where he will be treated and loved as a beloved family member. I hope he is rehomed into a loving furever family ASAP!!!

  3. ARE THEY “STUPID” OR JUST PLAIN “INSANE”?!

PLEASE DONT LET THE SHELTER KILL TUX BECAUSE OF HEARTLESS,
    SELFISH, UNCARING LUNATICS!

  4. Trash. This family was too lazy to bond the baby with the dog. I’m sure the dog would’ve protected the kid, but once again animals suffer for the actions of sorry humans.
