A dog owner from Seattle wants to know why his healthy, two-year-old dog named Louie died on a Hawaiian Airlines flight two weeks ago; flying from the Big Island to Seattle with a stopover on Oahu. Reports indicate Louie died during the layover.

According to KiroNews7, Randall Carpio, a naturopathic doctor, called his dog “one in a million.” The dog had been in training to be an emotional support pet for his patients in Seattle and was described as a very rare pitbull breed – “Isabella Lilac” whose grandfather in the lineage line had been sold for $750,000 to a buyer in Taiwan.

Carpio’s father informed his son of the dog’s death.

Although a necropsy was performed on Louie, a definitive cause of death came back inconclusive. And now all he has are the dog’s ashes.

Hawaiian Airlines had issued an apology, but that obviously hasn’t answered any questions about Louie’s death and why.

Rest in peace Louie.
