A middle-aged dog named Curtis has spent the majority of his life without a home. The dog, estimated to be six years of age, was brought to the Town of Brookhaven animal shelter as a stray years ago and after a few months, he was adopted. Tragically, he was found months later abandoned in a crate which was left out in the snow.

Curtis’ advocate writes:

Curtis has been waiting for his true home for 6 years!! He is available at Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter.
Curtis is a goofy, awkward, glorious dog. He has impeccable manners, too. Curtis was adopted in the past, and shockingly, was found a few months later in a different town, outside, locked in a crate in the snow.

Curtis is recommended to be the only pet in the home and he suffers from separation anxiety. The combination has managed to scare all potential adopters away. But this handsome dog also has many attributes. His shelter profile states:

He is housebroken, loves people so much so that he wants to be by your side all the time and will follow you around. He is a huge fan of tennis balls, large rope balls and stuffed Kongs. He is a big guy but he thinks he is a lap dog and will often climb up and curl up in your chair just to be with you. He knows and enjoys the agility course and will sit and stay on command.

Adding:

Curtis longs for a home where he can relax and be someone’s loyal and loving best friend. He will need to be the only pet in an adult household with a 6 foot fully fenced yard but the love he has to share will amaze you. Curtis is eager to learn new things, he wants to please you and be your best friend.
