A young dog has died after being dragged behind a moving vehicle in Ross County, Ohio. The dog, dubbed Blake, suffered severe injuries on July 6 when she was dragged for “at least a mile.”
A press release from the Ross County Humane Society provides details about the cruel incident:
On the evening of July 6, 2021 Ross County Humane Society staff was contacted and informed of a case involving a dog that had been drug alongside and behind a car for at least one mile. The Ross County Sheriff’s office contacted the Ross County Dog Warden regarding the dog and its injuries, at the same time the Ross County Humane Society staff were being alerted via social media posts. In conjunction with the Ross County Dog Warden office, the Ross County Humane Society transported the injured 1-2 year old female mixed breed to North Fork Animal Clinic to be stabilized.
Detailing her injuries:
a large open would on the dog’s abdomen, toes and paw pads are damaged to the point that they are missing, bleeding, abrasions and swelling to the head and face, along with a large amount of road rash.
An update on July 7 reveals that the dog did not survive:
It is with heavy hearts to let you know that she has passed. Her injuries were too great for her to overcome. Thank you to everyone who has helped in some way. We are sorry we couldn’t do more to have a different outcome. She passed away peacefully at Ohio State Veterinary Hospital.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the events that led to the trauma on the dog is ongoing by the Ross County Sheriff’s office and the Ross County Dog Warden and appropriate charges will be pending dependent upon that investigation.

This is horrible. That poor precious treasure did not deserve this awful treatment. WTF happened? Was her person clueless & super careless??? I can’t understand how or why someone could do this to their furbaby…….

As for the completely oblivious POS who dragged Blake, you can fix many things, but you can’t fix stupid……. They have a reserved spot in the hottest part of Hell waiting for them to burn forever for their cruelty……. I hope they are arrested, convicted and serve time for what they did to Blake (who had her life stolen due to their complete stupidity)……….
