A dog in Gallatin County, Montana, continues to recover from injuries he suffered after being tethered to the bumper of a car and dragged for over a half mile. The dog, dubbed Marley, was seriously injured in the July 6 incident on Jackrabbit Lane.

On Thursday, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office updated Facebook followers with Marley’s condition, writing:

Many people have asked for an update on Marley. As you can see, he has come a long way and is healing nicely. These pics were during nap time but rest assured, Marley is an active, sweet boy doing very well.

Providing a few details about the investigation:

Unfortunately, we are unable to release any further details as this is an on-going criminal case but please know that all parties in the matter have been identified.

According to the authorities, Marley is not available for adoption until the investigation is complete, but he is being “lovingly” cared for in the meantime.
