A video shared on Twitter over the weekend showed a woman kicking and slapping her horse after the animal ran into the road. The incident is believed to have taken place during the Cottensmore Hunt – a foxhound pack based in Rutland, county in the East Midlands of England.
The video was posted by an anti-hunting group Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs who are asking the RSPCA to investigate the alleged animal cruelty.
According to the Mirror, the RSPCA has launched an appeal for information after the video was posted. In the footage, the woman can be seen kicking the horse and then punches the animal before pulling it roughly by the reins and leading the animal into a transport. The rider is believed to be part of the Cottesmore Hunt who have since stated they do not condone the actions as shown in the video “under any circumstances.”
In addition, The Hunting Office condemned the actions as seen in the video and state the woman in the video is not a member of the hunting associations.
