An animal cruelty investigation has been instigated following the discovery of a senior dog who appears to have been tortured to death after being taken from his family’s yard in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. As reported by Mlive.com, the 12-year-old pit bull, named Tyson, was outside on a tie-out on March 18 while his family was away. When the residents returned to their home that afternoon, the senior dog was gone, but his collar was still there, unbuckled but attached to the tie-out.

Four days later, Tyson’s body was found alongside a road 2.5 miles away – there was no blood and his injuries, including deep lacerations on different parts of his body, a skull fracture and a suspected bullet wound on the top of his head, were not consistent with him being hit by a car.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley is hoping to get information about this case. Anyone with a tip is asked to contact the HSHV Animal Cruelty Investigation hotline at 734-661-3560.
