There was no happily-ever-after for a cow who escaped from a slaughterhouse in Blue Springs, Missouri. As reported by KCTV 5 News, three cows got away from Valley Oaks Meats on Wednesday and proceeded to run through town and along the freeway.
At one point, a cow wandered onto Blue Springs High School’s Freshman Campus football field and the police corralled it and then led it to a wooded area where is was killed for displaying “unsafe and uncontrollable behavior.” Another steer was “euthanized” and the third cow was captured and “trailered.” No word on the fate of the trailered cow.
The police have stated that all options were exhausted before the cows were “euthanized.”
