On September 12, witnesses contacted the authorities after a couple was observed throwing an injured puppy into the ocean at Tybee Island, Georgia. As reported by WYFF 4 News, when the police arrived, they found the injured pup curled up in the sand. The couple, whose names have not been released, told the police that the puppy was hurt in an accident a week before, but they didn’t have money to get the puppy veterinary care.

The seriously injured puppy was taken from the couple and transported to a veterinarian in Savannah – sadly, the veterinarian determined that the injuries were too severe and the pup was euthanized.

A warrant for aggravated cruelty to animals has been issued for the couple.

In other, more uplifting news, a woman had to be rescued after she and her dog got stuck in the mud near a beach in North East Lincolnshire, England. The woman told rescuers that she would “die for her dog.” Read the full story at this link.
