In Falls Church, Virginia, a very friendly cat has an unusual tale to tell, and although she obviously can’t speak, her notoriety and the adorable “oohs and aahs” have endeared our hearts – even during an ice storm.
According to Prince Georges County and Surrounding Counties Maryland Lost and Found Facebook post, the stowaway kitty was found on a REI delivery truck when Lindsey, an employee of the company [Recreational Equipment Inc], found the cat behind a box while unloading the truck.
The cat was so friendly she immediately came out from her cozy hiding place and rubbed up against the person climbing on her shoulder. Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation were contacted, and are caring for the cat; she is reported to be calm, healthy and has a lovely disposition. Sadly, she doesn’t have a microchip, and there is no telling where she could have hitched a ride on the delivery truck.
“This beautiful cat was found as a stowaway on a delivery truck. She was discovered in Bailey’s Crossroads, Falls. Church, Va, but could have hopped on any where from there down to Stafford, Va. She is not chipped. She is currently being loved on Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation Please Share to help spread the word and find her owner.”
The rescue organization plans to contact other shelters in the area to find out if the cat has been reported missing or lost. If not, she will be given all of the necessary vaccinations and be made available for adoption. With her disposition, there will likely be a line at the door.
