Caged puppy abandoned in the snow outside of Ohio animal shelter

Days ago, a caged puppy was abandoned in the snow outside of a Franklin County, Ohio, animal shelter. The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center posted an image of the puppy sitting in the snow, and admonished anyone who thinks it is okay:

It goes without saying that it is cold outside! If you’re looking to surrender a dog to the shelter, but don’t want to interact with a person for some reason, the least you can do is call 614-525-3400 and let the shelter know you have left a dog in our parking lot.

The puppy was abandoned during the morning hours, and was found because there are people coming and going during the day. The shelter again, reminded everyone that is is NOT okay to leave a puppy outside in the snow, writing:

But this is unacceptable. Again, please call 614-525-3400 and, at the minimum, let the shelter know you have left a dog in our parking lot.
