Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on most everything, and for one dog named Shayla, it has meant the devastating loss of her owners. The German shepherd has been taken in by the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, in California, and she is in need of a new family.

A social media post explains Shayla’s sad situation:

BOTH of Shayla’s owners died of Covid-19. She is safe with GSROC, but she is understandably confused about her next steps. Shayla is a big sweetheart. She likes other dogs of all sizes, and she loves being with her special person. Shayla would do best with someone who is home a lot as that is what she was accustomed to in her last family.

Shayla is six years of age, and she is described as “affectionate.” German shepherds are intelligent, devoted companions and there is no doubt that Shayla fits this description as well. Would you please help this beautiful dog find a new family? It will take some time to mend her broken heart, but a loving owner will undoubtedly help turn Shayla’s world right side up once again.
