A small pup who fell or jumped overboard was rescued by boaters who noticed him struggling in the ocean off of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to NBC 2 News, the puppy, whose name is Zuko, was biting at the waves from his owner’s boat and he somehow wound up in the ocean. Despite their frantic search of the area, he was nowhere to be found.

Fortunately Byrn Crowell and her friends were out boating that same day and they noticed the white pup struggling in the choppy water. One of the boaters jumped into the water and secured the pup before swimming back to the vessel and getting out of the water.

Fortunately, little Zuko had on a collar, with an identification tag, and the boaters were able to call his owners to let them know that he had been found and was safe. In short order, the pup was reunited with his grateful family.

The rescue effort was recorded and uploaded to TikTok. You can watch it here.
