A senior dog named Wally is in need of a new home after the death of his owner. The beagle mix not only lost his owner, but he recently lost his vision as well. On Sunday, the Susie’s Senior Dogs Facebook page wrote:
Wally was adopted by a committed gentleman four years ago, however, he sadly died this past year. The adopter’s girlfriend tried to take care of Wally, but her situation was not the right fit for Wally’s needs.
In July, PAWS of Norwalk, Connecticut, commented on Wally’s blindness, writing:
This distinguished senior gentleman is Wally. He’s a 7-8 year old mostly beagle mix that was adopted from PAWS four years ago. In the past year he became blind from SARDS. Wally has adapted very well and has learned how to negotiate his home environment quickly and mastered new commands.
Describing Wally’s personality and ideal home:
Wally is a chill type of guy who enjoys basking in the sun in the back yard or taking a nap on the couch. His current owner has work obligations that make it difficult to be present for Wally. He is very social and would be a great cuddle buddy, companion and copilot. Wally has a history of enjoying the company of other dogs and would probably do well with a calm dog who will give him some time to get adjusted. He’s just as content to be your one and only. We are hoping for a place for Wally to spend his golden years surrounded by love.
