Bedraggled dog, found in Michigan ditch, may have been thrown from an overpass

A bedraggled dog, discovered over the weekend on Rathbunway Rd near Maple Road in Birch Run, Michigan, may have been thrown from an overpass. According to the Saginaw County Animal Care & Control, the person who found the dog was led to her by the sound of the abandoned dog’s cries.

The animal welfare agency writes:

It appears this pup may have been thrown from the I-75 overpass. She was severely, grotesquely matted and the mats were tangled in branches and weeds. She was unable to move.

It took animal control agency four hours to carefully clip away the mats and filth from the badly neglected dog’s body. After the grooming, she no longer resembled the dog found in the ditch.

Now, the agency is hopeful that someone can help lead them to the person who neglected her and threw her away, writing:
