On Friday, a young dog was brought into the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray. Sadly, she doesn’t feel well and has been experiencing serious stomach discomfort and diarrhea. More than likely, she had been eating what she could scavenge off the streets, and as a result of her urgency to stave off her hunger, had eaten and digested a substance toxic to her system.

The shelter veterinarian has examined her, and she is currently being treated with medication. Once she is feeling better, she will be available for adoption and can be given a bath and some one on one attention to help her recuperate. A perfect solution for this dog, however would be to find her an approved rescue organization who can immediately transfer her to a veterinarian hospital where she can receive the treatment she needs.

“It’s like she didn’t even want to wake up. Yes, RVT has seen her. Hopefully medicine will help and once she’s available (11/2/21) and assessed we can then take her out and give her a bath and some much needed love.”
