Clover is barely one-year-old and weighs only 11 pounds. When found on Christmas Day, she had showed up on a homeowner’s porch and that family reached out for help with ThisIsHouston.
The family told rescuers that the puppy was frightened, and that they had hesitated to approach her, but when the volunteer walked right up to her and Clover started to wag her tail and offered wet, slobbery kisses, it was obvious she just wanted someone to care about her.
Clover has suffered deep wounds on her legs and has a severe case of mange, but she is now being treated and is expected to be back to a bouncy puppy in the near future. For the past few days, she has been at Vergi 24/7 receiving intravenous fluids, a blood transfusion and daily bandage changes.
