An ailing, senior golden retriever had to be euthanized after someone abandoned her alongside a road in Richmond, Virginia. On Tuesday, the Richmond Animal Care and Control posted a video of the dog on Facebook, requesting help from the public to find out who she belonged to:

We need your help with this one. Tuck in your angry swears and help us find the owner of this dog. Meet Susie. 💔 She is a senior golden retriever mix that was found off the side of the road near Afton Ave/Lynhaven Ave wrapped in a bandage with no collar or chip. She can’t walk so we can only assume someone left her there. 😡

Tragically, shortly after Susie was taken to the vet, she had to be put down. The animal control agency explained:

Sad and sorry to share we couldn’t save Susie. The bandage was covering multiple necrotic wounds and she was becoming septic. We hugged her close and said goodbye. She didn’t die alone or in pain and for that we are grateful. Sometimes our jobs are hard. Ugh. Please help us find the person responsible for her neglect. 💔💔

The facility wants to know who is responsible for abandoning this dog:

Please call 804-646-5573, PM on FB, DM on IG or email if you have any information. Please share this post in the hopes someone will see her and know something!

Will I still fit on your lap mom?

How can someone live with themselves abandoning a precious dog like this! If she is ailing, get her help or at the very least help her over the bridge humanly! I’m glad she was found by someone and didn’t die alone. I hope they find out who did this, they need to be held accountable! Rest in peace sweet Susie.
