A four-month-old infant may have been accidentally suffocated after the family’s puppy was found resting on top of her on New Year’s Eve in Dayton, Ohio.
According to the Dayton Now News, Raelynn Larrison was found unconscious by her father who made the frantic call to 911 around 7:00 p.m:
“The puppy was lying on her and I just now noticed it. She’s not breathing. My baby ain’t breathing…”
Raelynn was taken to the Dayton Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
There has been no information released as to the breed of the dog. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends to never leave a small child and a pet – whether a dog or cat alone together.
An investigation is underway. The cause of death has not been determined; neither the coroner’s office or the dispatcher have made any statements.
A GoFundMe page has been started to help pay for the baby’s funeral expenses.

Of course the dog will be labeled as “vicious” when it was the parent’s responsibility to supervise their child and the dog. This was an accident that never should have happened. You NEVER leave and infant alone with a dog!!!!!!!! When are people going to LEARN!!!!!!
Tragic situation all around. Parents fail to supervise baby and dog….. dog accidentally kills baby, dog is euthanized. Due most likely to inattentive Dad, probably watching a football game, both baby and dog end up dead…… BTW: where was the baby laying that the dog could have gotten on top of her???
