In Boston, 33 Persian cats are soon to be made available for adoption after they were surrendered from a Central Massachusetts home earlier this week. The cats range in age from five to 12 years and were all matted and dirty after living in squalid conditions.

According to the MSPCA, the cats now called “Fancy Times Three” are hoped to find new homes with adopters who can “restore the cats to their previous regal state.”

In addition to being purebred Persians, a highly desirable breed that only occasionally shows up at our adoption centers – many of these were previous show cats with at least several imported from Italy.

According to the rescue organization’s Facebook page, the last week has been spent grooming and treating them for various ailments.

The owner of the cats surrendered them after the person caring for the cats died. The owner will not be facing any charges of animal cruelty.
