15-year-old husky at shelter, surrounded by strangers

An endearing 15-year-old husky named Bubba finds himself surrounded by strangers after being taken in at an animal shelter in Summit, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday afternoon, the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter posted a photo of Bubba, writing:

This is the face of a 15 year old boy who spent his life with a family, he is now surrounded by strangers.
His name is Bubba and he doesn’t belong spending one more second in the shelter.
He is good with cats and dogs.
Can someone give this boy a place to retire, for the rest of his life ?

But there seems to be more to Bubba’s story. In the comments on the animal shelter’s post there is mention of Bubba’s “true owner,” and the need for this dog to stay in a foster home until things are sorted out. Within the past hour, the shelter commented on Bubba’s situation, writing:

he is in Foster and will likely need an adopter based on the information we have, If that changes , the post will be changed.

Was Bubba stolen? Did a good Samaritan take him from a bad situation? The shelter is working to find out and they will ensure that Bubba winds up in the best place possible.
