In Clinton, Iowa, a puppy appears to have deliberately set on fire. The 10-month-old Labrador retriever and Pointer mix has severe third degree burns down his back; an accelerant was likely used.

According to K9 Kindness Rescue, who is caring for the puppy, went on the 10-hour drive to Memphis Animal Services to pick the pup, named Wyatt and bring him back to Clinton where he will be under the care of a foster parent experienced in handling and managing severe case of neglect and abuse.

Wgad8News  Chief Deputy Steve Diesch at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department stated that intentional animal cruelty could be treated as an aggravated misdemeanor in the State of Iowa and if found guilty, the defendant could face up to two years in prison. Diesch and his wife often take in pets in need of rescue.

As for Wyatt, he will have a long recovery and is receiving antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs to help with his recovery.

  1. Can we all please stop breeding more and more dogs? They have become a throwaway commodity like everything else in our crappy society. If you want a dog go to the rescue.
