A woman near Santa Fe, New Mexico, is mourning the loss of her 11-month-old puppy Dillinger, who was found hanging from a bridge. As reported by KOB 4 News, Marie Lewis’ pit bull had been missing for a short time before the authorities let her know that he had been found.
The circumstances surrounding the pup’s death are incredibly disturbing – police told Lewis that her pup was found hanging from a bridge on the Acequia Trail. Lewis is devastated that her puppy is gone, and that he suffered. She told the news agency:
“I broke down and I screamed. I don’t even recognize that person that screamed. I started petting him and hugging him and I just can’t imagine what he went through, what he suffered.”
Adding her feelings of helplessness and despair as she imagines his final moments alive, saying:
I can see Dillinger. ‘Where’s my mamma? How come she’s not helping me?’ Looking all around. I’ve been crying for two days
So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the local authorities.

I can’t imagine the heartbreak this woman is suffering. Some evil person did this to this poor dog and there is a special place waiting for them in Hell! My sincere condolences to Marie Lewis, try not to blame yourself, puppies get loose and whoever found Dillinger just should have brought him home! This was a pure act of hatred on their part and they need to pay for it!
