Woman uses dog as a weapon in hostile encounter with another motorist

A disturbing video has gone viral on social media Saturday showing an enraged woman using her leashed dog as a weapon in an encounter with another driver on the street in Dartmouth. On Wednesday, the Halifax Regional Police were summoned to the 600 block of Windmill Road concerning a disturbance involving four adult women.

According to the Halifax Regional Police, the altercation began after two women in one vehicle confronted two women in another vehicle, referring to one of them being cut-off in a drive-thru. When police arrived, none of the women wanted to pursue charges. Although there had been a report from witnesses about a dog having been involved, officers checked on the dogs in one vehicle while at the scene, and they appeared to be fine.

The severity of the actions involving the dog was not known at the time. The video was taken by a witness and shared on social media.

According to the video, one of the dogs had been swung around by its leash and used as a weapon. An investigation into the mistreatment of the dog is now underway.
