Woman feels helpless as dog’s plaintive cries echo from neighbor’s apartment

In Brooklyn, a woman feels absolutely helpless after reporting suspected animal cruelty to authorities several times and no one seemed to respond or care. The woman reached out on social media for help; her videos painted the disturbing cries of a dog being repeatedly beaten and yelping in pain.

“Today I called the 70th precinct directly, but nothing so far. There are people in apartment 2G of my building who keep BEATING THEIR DOG on the regular. I continuously hear this poor pup screaming in pain and it kills my soul. It says a lot you can hear this poor dog screaming above all the outside noise and closed windows…”

Amy went on to explain she feared confronting the person as she was afraid what a personal visit might entail for the dog or for her own safety.

An animal advocacy and rescue group have stepped forward to investigate the alleged animal cruelty. In addition, a detective with the precinct has also been helping.
