A Texas woman, caught on video viciously kicking a puppy inside of a car, has been arrested and charged. According to KHOU News, Houston police arrested 20-year-old Jaymeshia Trenay Vigne on a charge of animal cruelty for punching and kicking a pup dubbed Max.
Vigne claims that her actions were in response to the puppy’s “attack” on her five-year-old son. Vigne alleges that the puppy is not hers and that he had jumped on her five-year-old boy, scratching his ear. The video of the abuse was shared on social media and led to the offering of a $500 reward for the puppy to be found and turned over to the SPCA.
The puppy was found by a self-described animal lover and handed over to the animal welfare agency on the same day that the reward was offered. On Friday, the Houston Police announced that Vigne was arrested and charged.

Max is safe and being held by the shelter as the investigation continues.
