A woman in Daytona Beach, Florida, was arrested on Monday after she hurled a dog from a second story motel balcony. According to multiple sources, 35-year-old Allison Murphy had threatened to jump off of the balcony of a Motel 6, but when she was confronted by deputies, she picked up a German shepherd and threw the dog from the balcony instead.
The dog, dubbed Miracle, managed to get up and run away after hitting the ground. She was captured and taken to Atlantic Animal Hospital in Port Orange for emergency care. A veterinary exam revealed no major injuries, but a sewing needle was found in her thigh. The needle was removed and Miracle remains in the care of Ventura County Animal Services, reports Click Orlando.
Murphy was booked into the Volusia County Jail, and she is facing charges of animal cruelty and resisting an officer with violence.
