At the Monmouth County SPCA, a woman pulled up early Saturday morning and left 20 cats outside of the shelter’s front door. The cats had been stuffed into two crates with no food or water; a note was attached that stated the caretaker of the cats had died.
“We understand that this individual was trying to do the right thing however it is totally inappropriate and unsafe to abandon animals outside – not to mention, illegal by NJ state law. The Monmouth County SPCA is always here to help, as we have been doing for years and years, and we’re saddened that this woman felt abandoning these animals was her only option,” the organization posted on their Facebook page, asking for the public’s help identifying the woman.
The vehicle is described as a Mazda CX-7, the suspect is a white woman. The front license plate had been blocked out. If anyone can identify the woman below in the video, contact the Monmouth County Cruelty Hotline at 877.898.7297. You can remain anonymous.

All of the cats are fine and were given warm bedding and food which they ate ravenously. They will all be medically examined to check for any needed, immediate attention.
