A disturbing video, posted to social media, has resulted in the arrest of two men in Nebraska. As reported by the Associated Press, the video shows two men hurling a young Labrador retriever onto an icy lake.

The men have been identified as 28-year-old James Pollock and 19-year-old Austin Vanburen, of Elwood. As reported by the news agency, Pollock was the first man accused of throwing the year old dog onto the ice. The initial impact caused the ice to break and the dog managed to swim back to shore.

The men allegedly proceeded to throw the dog two more times into the frigid lake. The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the social media video led to animal cruelty charges against both men. The dog was found and examined and managed to escape injury. According to the Sioux City Journal, the dog was seized from Pollack and taken to an animal shelter.
